Aguila ESD Food Services

Good nutrition and academic success go hand in hand!

Our Food Services Department consists of a team of food and nutrition professionals who are dedicated to students' health, well-being, and their ability to learn. We support academic success by providing healthy meal choices while promoting lifelong nutrition and fitness practices..

Nutritional Excellence

Providing nutritious and appetizing meals for our students is a priority for us here at Aguila. We know that proper nutrition is one of the keys of student success, and we know you count on us to provide your children with healthy foods. We offer students balanced meals that include a main dish, a fruit or vegetable, and a carbohydrate. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

You’re Welcome to Join Us

We welcome parents to join their child for lunch at school. Please let the school office know by 8:00 a.m. if you will be having lunch with your child that day. Note: Federal guidelines forbid a parent eating from a child’s plate or a child eating from a parent’s plate. The cost for a visitor’s lunch is $4.65.

Find Summer Meals in Your Community

Nutritious free meals are available for children and teens 18 and younger at many locations throughout the nation during the summer while school is out of session. Visit the Arizona Summer Food Service Program website to find a site near you.

Good nutrition is essential for learning in school. Continuing healthy eating habits is also important during the long, hot summer months. Eating nutritious foods helps ensure students retain their hard learned knowledge and helps them keep right on learning throughout the summer. For many children, summer vacation can bring the temptation of eating empty calorie snacks and foods that are high in sugar, fats, and sodium. And for many others, summer exposes students to an increased risk of hunger and developmental decline. Make seasonal fruits and vegetables a high priority for your snacks, meals, and anytime.

Summertime is a time to play hard, but it is also a time to remember to eat right. Make sure good nutrition remains a priority all summer long, and students will return to school in the fall healthy, sharp, and ready to learn.
